Dawgs Bats Come Alive in Akron

Dawgs defeat the Racers in a 7-1 victory off 12 hits. Four hits came from solo homeruns hit by Nerissa Myers, Brittany Cervantes and two from Katiyana Mauga!
 
Myers leads the game off with her homerun to put the Dawgs up early.
 
Mauga follows in the first at bat of the second inning with a solo shot of her own to make it 2-0. 
 
In the third, Myers leads off with a grounder to hug the right field line for a single. Allexis Bennett chops one over third baseman, Kelley Montalvo for single, runners on first and second with no outs. Cervantes draws a walk to load the bases. Mauga draws a walk herself to force in Myers, Dawgs up by three.
 
In the top of the fifth Cervantes hits a line over the right center fence for her third at bat of the game.
 
Kayla Winkfield hits a blooper over the second baseman and turns on the wheels to sneak in to second. Myers hits a shot to the right field for a stand up double, scoring Winkfield.
 
Mauga doing what she does best delivers another solo homerun in the top of the seventh.
 
Monica Abbott with an excellent performance on the mound with nine strikeouts and only allowing four hits and one run.
